An early peek at a sample of the etzMAX Medium which will be finalized and in production summer 2018:

This black version is very good looking in my view even though I also liked the sand blasted aluminum body as shown on display at WOC2018. The 'skin like' texture of it and the marble like shades of the metal make it look very natural to me and the 'rough tool' look is appealing as well, at least to me:

Burr replacement is a task requiring utmost accuracy and since it needs to be done only after a couple of years (or longer), very few users become proficient at this. To prevent trouble from home users mis-aligning their new burr set, Etzinger has decided to design the motor/burr combi as one unit which can be easily replaced:

Instead of burr replacement: take out the motor/transmission/burr block and replace it. Costs estimated about € 500 but one gets € 200 back for the used block which will be completely refurbished. Also, all relevant usage data (amount of shots etcetera) is read from the block memory to improve future user interface and service. |

At the WOC2018 show, Christian Etzinger told me he has come across a few beans that caused static and his advice is "if you find them, discard, use the other beans and move on." |
